Two Maps, One Community
The Island and Ragnarok run side by side with the same rates and PVE rules, so pick the map you like. The two servers are being linked so you can transfer your survivor between maps at the obelisks; until then Ragnarok is a fresh start.
How to connect
ARK's server browser is notoriously flaky with community servers, so the most reliable way in is a one-line console command. Here is the full path.
Open the console at the main menu
Launch ARK: Survival Ascended and stop at the main menu (don't load single player). Press the tilde key ` to open the console. If nothing happens, turn on Enable In-Game Console in Settings first, then press ` again.
Direct connect
Type open ark.vortexgaminghq.net:7777 for The Island, or open ark.vortexgaminghq.net:7787 for Ragnarok, and press Enter, then wait 20-30 seconds. Use the game port here, not 27015. This skips the browser, which often won't list community servers even when they are online.
Browser fallback
If the console doesn't connect, choose Join ARK, set the filter to Unofficial, turn on Show Player Servers, search Vortex, and hit Refresh a few times (the list is slow to fill in). The Island shows as VortexGamingHQ 3x-No Wipe-PVE and Ragnarok as VortexGamingHQ 3x-No Wipe-PVE - Ragnarok; select one and Join.
Save it for next time
Once you're in, click the star next to the server so it is one click from the Favorites tab. To add it in Steam instead, use the query port: ark.vortexgaminghq.net:27015.
Server rules
A short set of rules keeps the server fair and friendly, and our staff play here and enforce them.
- No cheating, hacking, duping, or exploiting.
- Be respectful. No harassment, slurs, or hate speech.
- No griefing: don't steal, raid, or destroy another tribe's tames, bases, or loot.
- Don't block resource spawns, caves, or obelisks with structures (no spam pillaring).
- Don't lure wild creatures onto other players' bases or tames.
- Listen to staff and follow their direction.
